We were approached by a major manufacturer of DOOH (Digital Out of Home) display panels sited in airports, shopping malls and railway stations throughout the UK. Due to the diverse nature of the products manufactured, their vendor base had expanded over the years and had become unmanageable in its present guise.

Our first task was to look at the cable harnesses as they were using in excess of 50 differing designs from 6 vendors. By designing in alternative component manufacturers and moving all assembly offshore, we managed to not only  reduce their costs by 20% , but also put in place a complete JIT ordering system via our UK warehouse. One order – One Delivery – One invoice. Further to this we then looked at their PCBA business, again offering alternative componentry and have successfully reduced their costs by 10%

This has enabled their purchasing team to concentrate on areas where they can reduce expenditure in larger numbers and leave the day-to-day business for Delta to run.
